Let’s do it! How do I take the next step?

Do you work with people outside of Kentucky?

Yes. While we strongly believe in building a deep connection to our clients and feel in-person, face-to-face meetings are the best way to build it, technology has provided us with the opportunity to work with anyone, anywhere through virtual meetings and video chats.

What can I expect from our initial meeting?

Our free Introductory Meeting is designed to help us get to know one another and see if it makes sense for us to work together. We will discuss your financial life, what is important to you and what keeps you awake at night, as well as answer any questions you have about us and our firm. If we agree that it makes sense to move forward with the relationship, we’ll schedule a Discovery Meeting to begin the planning process.

How do you charge for your services?

We have a simple and transparent fee schedule based on the value of your investment portfolio. This fee includes financial planning, investment management, coordination with your other professional advisors, regular meetings and full access to us when needed. One fourth of the fee is charged each calendar quarter and deducted from your investment accounts. We combine all accounts within the household to provide the lowest fee available to you.

While most of our clients have investment accounts with us, we realize that some may not have assets available to invest, but still want financial advice and guidance from time to time. That’s why we offer an hourly planning service, as well, to make our services available to everyone.

What does it mean to be a independent, fee-only advisor?

This means that our ONLY compensation is paid directly from our clients. We don’t accept commissions, kickbacks, or any other form of monetary compensation from other financial or investment companies. This allows us to focus on what is important to you and provide advice that is in your best interest.

Who do you work with?

Families, professionals and business owners who find themselves at a pivot point in life and are serious about working to achieve their financial goals. We will collaborate with you, hold you accountable, and help you maximize your financial potential every step of the way.

How do you define wealth?

Wealth means something different to everyone. It may be a social status, it may be a net worth, it may be a feeling of comfort and security, or may be wealth is having time to spend with your friends and family. We’re not here to define wealth for you. We believe it is our job to work side-by-side with you to help develop an understanding of what wealth means to you and help create a plan to make it a reality. Regardless of how wealth is defined, it doesn’t happen by accident. It happens by design and with deliberate decision-making.

Why did you name the firm, “Pivot Point”?

Great question! Think back 5 years, 10 years, or even 20 years, and what you imagined your life would look like today. How does that compare to your reality? For better or for worse, the two pictures are probably different. When we envision our futures, we conveniently draw a straight line from Point A (today) to Point B (the future). When we take a closer look, that straight line is actually a series of zigs and zags. Our journey from today to where we end up in the future will be determined by the many decisions we make along the way, or Pivot Points. We feel it is our job to serve as your guide, whether that means helping you create a solid vision for your journey or simply acting as a sign post when you come to a crossroad. When you reach a Pivot Point along your journey, no matter how big or small, we’re here to help keep you on the path that you’ve envisioned.
